place-anchored to Rochelle, already selling websites and software at ~age 10. The
5th-grade science fair project — Best in Show — and the lineal ancestor of
jake@bur.ke. It is both this register’s front door and an entry in it.
A DOS sports-card database that shipped as a complete product — labeled floppy, fold-out manual, parody EULA (“OR,—DON’T STEAL THIS SOFTWARE!!”), an after-school support line. “So easy even my mom can use it.” The 4th-grade science fair project, Best in Show — the program the homepage above was built to sell. Recovered and still runs.
